“The goal is to live a full, productive life even with all that ambiguity. No matter what happens, whether the cancer never flares up again or whether you die, the important thing is that the days that you have had you will have lived.”
– Gilda Radner

Doctors are there when cancer enters your life. Hospitals are there during the treatment. Gilda’s Club Chicago is there through it all; for anyone who has ever been affected by cancer.

For the past five years, Gilda’s Club Chicago’s very own Red Door Runners have been crossing the finish line of the Bucktown 5K as they proudly raise money and awareness for the many programs the Club offers. With 200 + activities each month and more than 10,500 visits in 2010, Gilda’s has served members from 92% of Chicago zip codes. Our mission is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer—men, women, teens and children—along with their families and friends. Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. From art and yoga classes, to an indoor playground and discussion groups, Gilda’s door is open for those searching for support to carry them through the hard times and to celebrate the victories.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, watch our 2011 Agents of Hope video and get a million.

Help us get more people through the door. Run with us and raise money and awareness. Become a Red Door Runner for the 2011 Bucktown 5k.

Red Door Runners are looking for more people to raise money (minimum of $250) and awareness for Gilda’s Club Chicago.
